PROJECT 1 · COLLAGE
Physical Collage ·
Gathering of Materials |

fig 4.1 collected materials, Week 2
Pre - composition |
1. Composition #1
fig 4.2 position #1, Week 2
In this composition, I picked something out of the material that was as pontential as possioble. I made David the subject and let him hold a old camera with facial features. I thought that would make the image playful.
2. Composition #2
fig 4.3 position #2, Week 2
I positioned David between the two legs, which I always think is an interesting composition, and make the scraps of plastic bag to become his mask. But after finishing it I thought the whole composition was a bit empty and irrelevant.
3. Composition #3
fig 4.4 composition #3, Week 2
I wanted to try a collage of facial features, but fingding the suitable material was a challenge. And it cannot fully reflect the composition of the picture.
Final Physical Collage |

fig 4.5 Final Composition, Week 3
The idea of this work is to resurrect the familiar statue "David" and lead a new trend with a novel aesthetic.

fig 5.2 composition #2, Week 3
fig 5.3 composition #3, Week 3
| fig 5.4 Adjustment Layers in Composition #2, Week 4 |
I've adjusted the tones of the image to make it more uniform, and I've adjusted some of the positions so that the composition of the elements is closer to the golden ratio.
