Task 1
Having the introduction of this module and we had create our e-portfolio.I found myself quite nervous as everything is unfamiliar for me and also the language would be a challenge for me. I need some time to adapt a new educational environment. Starting from the second week, we gradually entered our first task, which is type expression design. We are limited to using 10 typefaces, and our designed words cannot be excessively distorted and cannot be presented in the form of illustrations. When I started sketching, I thought it was not difficult to have ideas, but coming up with unique and creative ideas was the hard part. During the digitalization stage, it took me a long time to become familiar with Adobe Illustrator. Almost every step was completed while watching tutorials, because I had almost no contact with this soflware before. At the stage of making GIF, the difficulties I encounted were basically operational issues, which required a lot of time to adjust and produce, but overall I was enjoy with it.
Task 2
In this task, I can use the software more masterly and understand what Mrv.Vinod taught in class than in the previous class. I have gradually adapted to the rhythm and homework of this class, which makes it much easier for me.
Task 3
My favorite part is the initial drafting session: using a brush pen to write a rough draft on graph paper. I have always loved the feeling of writing on paper. Later in digitization, I began to encounter difficulties in designing fonts. It was easy to write the fonts on the draft, but to accurately express it in AI requires more detailed and exquisite design, and the words on the draft Type is not necessarily suitable for use in digitize. In short, the process of digitizing fonts is the most energy-consuming and challenging. Later, I imported it into fontlab. I am not very proficient in using the software. In terms of bearing, I did not completely follow Mr. Vinod's reference because it was a bit complicated.

Task 1
In the process of doing the task, I observed that several key points that make the design visually impressive are the both font's design and its meaning can reflect the same personality, easy to read and recognize, and contrast.
Task 2
During this assignment, I deeply remembered what Mr Vinod mentioned, that design is not just for looking good, but for meaning. I deeply understand the meaning of this sentence. Design without meaning is empty. As a designer, I believe that whenever I face the issue of inspiration, I am always stuck on ‘how to make my work special’. In addition, the problem I encountered when completing this assignment was that the progress was not saved and the archive was lost. This was a very shocking accident.
Task 3
I think font design requires more 'rational' information-based design than feeling, just like mbti's 'T-Thinking' attribute, which requires more thinking and information.

Task 1
I realized this module is not as easy as I thought, I thought it must be the most challenging module in this semester. But also kind of excited that it will be great beginning for being a good designer, as Mr.Vinod said, typography is the base of design, "you can't run before you can walk". The are many complex principles and rules in typography. We need to spend a lot of time to improve our abilities and aesthetics in this project. The way to learn is watch more, and practice more.

Task 3
When encountering obstacles in the inspiration stage, we should think about the composition of the design in terms of the ‘meaning behind the design’. I understand that my work is not the best, but I need to keep a learning attitude to complete these assignments.
