1.1   Favourite Video Trend |

My Favourite Video Trend

1. Makeup transformation videos
2. Photography photo sets
3. Cinematic scene reenactments

1.2   Infuse Your Creativity |

If one of the idea/theme/trend is chosen, how do you make it better and unique?

I prefer the trend of Makeup Transformation Videos. I would select a trendy theme for the makeup and pair it with matching music. To enhance it further, I could create some scene setups.

1.3   About Idea |

Description
I prefer the trend of Makeup Transformation Videos combined with dynamic camera work. My makeup theme would be Barbie Doll makeup, and the camera techniques would follow the style shown in this link: Reference.

· Exercise 2 · Production Shoot

2.1   Pre-production |

In Week 5, we were organized into several groups to complete our group task, which involved managing a crew and shooting movie scenes from pre-production to post-production. The movie we are replicating is "Everything Everywhere All at Once."

Below is the list of our group members and their assigned positions. My role is to play the female protagonist, Evelyn. My responsibilities include memorizing the script and scenes.

Below is our group's shooting breakdown sheet, which clarifies the shooting scenes and camera points of view.

2.2   Production |

In Week 6, we had our production shoot on May 29th in E1.01 Photo Studio. We gathered 30 minutes before class to prepare. After a brief discussion about everyone's roles, we proceeded smoothly with our production. We worked “OT” until 6:30 pm, but our group maintained a friendly atmosphere and good communication, so we kept the mood positive.

Below are some behind-the-scenes videos from our production:

2.3   Post-production |

After we sorted out the footage and audio we shot, each of us used these materials to edit our versions.

Footage Editing and Audio Dubbing

I edited the footage and audio together. First, I removed the sound from the original footage and replaced it with professionally recorded audio to achieve better sound quality. The challenge was to synchronize the video and audio accurately. Since multiple groups were recording simultaneously, the audio contained some background noise, so I applied a noise reduction effect to clean it up.

Color Correction and Color Grading

I color corrected the edited clips, focusing on the following aspects:

Black and White Contrast
: Adjusted the waveform brightness to ensure the blacks were at 0 and the whites at 100, as much as possible. I use Lumetri as tools.

White Balance: Checked the RGB image to find and correct any color casts.

Character Skin Correction: Used the Vectorscope YUV, aligning skin tones along the skin color line from the top left to the bottom right.
After the initial color correction, I performed secondary color grading to add some stylized filters to the film. I aimed for a retro yellow-green look, drawing inspiration from Wong Kar-wai's style. Below are some color references reflecting this style.
